Elders Graduate Agronomy Program

Home Elders Graduate Agronomy Program
"The Elders Graduate Agronomy Program is the perfect platform for budding agronomists to identify their area of expertise and take the first steps to establishing a long and prosperous career in the industry."

Dr Michael Wilkes - Head of Thomas Elder Institute

Run by the Thomas Elder Institute (TEI), the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program is open to university students who have graduated within the last three years and have a passion for a long-term career in agronomy.

The program has gone from strength to strength since its introduction in 2015, giving bright and passionate young minds the opportunity to create their own pathway to success. Graduates work alongside some the country’s most experienced and respected agronomists to help nurture their passion and hone their skills. Importantly, the program also emphasises the importance of cultivating real relationships with clients.

Applications are now open.

How it works

During their first year participants work within the Australia-wide Elders branch network and experience six-month rotations in horticulture and broadacre placements.

Based on the participant’s region and sector of interest, they will be placed in a location for the second 12 months to further develop their agronomy skills and knowledge.

The graduate agronomy program provides on-the-job training to equip participants for a full-time position with Elders at the end of the program.

“Being a part of the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program allows me to work alongside experts in the field, allowing me to further my skills and knowledge, whilst gaining the confidence needed to be an agronomist."
