The program provides the best stepping stone to be able to do help farmers, working with a mentor who helps guide and shape your knowledge on how to best deal with those situations. While the notion of being moved around three times within the program is daunting, it also provides the very unique opportunity to learn of a diverse range of people unlike many other programs.
I am part of the 2021 Elders Graduate Agronomy Program, currently stationed in Tamworth NSW. I’m excited to be part of this program because it allows me to move around and experience different agricultural systems, and network with a diverse group of Elders employees and clients along the way.
What excites me about the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program is the opportunity the program provides. Not only am I able to focus on the industries that excite me, i.e. Horticulture, I also have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Elders business and build great connections throughout the industry, in both WA and nationally.
I am excited to see how I progress over the remainder of the program and what I will end up specialising in – whether that is horticulture or broadacre cropping. Elders has an inviting and friendly culture that makes you enjoy coming to work every day.
Being a part of the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program allows me the opportunity to work alongside experts in the field, allowing me to further my skills and knowledge, whilst gaining the confidence needed to be an agronomist.
I liked the idea of the Elders agronomy graduate program as it gives us the opportunity to move around the country and be involved in a range of different agricultural areas which I would not traditionally see.
Working for Elders in the graduate agronomy program has been a great way to build valuable skills and networks across the industry. Being in the Elders network means you have access to a team of people who are always willing to help.
What excites me about the being part of the graduate agronomy program is being able to work along side industry experts to gain the invaluable skills required to be an agronomist.
The best part of working at Elders is being part of an Australian wide family. If you ever have an issue or question everyone is willing to help.
I’m excited to be a graduate agronomist as part of the Elders team. I think this is a fantastic opportunity to grow my agronomic knowledge but to also develop nation-wide connections in agriculture, not only with the other graduates but through the Elders team and events. The graduate program also provides guidance and structure that I know will be valuable in these first years of my career.
